Organisational Psychology is one of the rarest jobs within organisations, yet the work of an OrgPsch is one of the most valuable potentially.

Recruitment

Signs of effective recruitment are in retention rates and churn. How is your organisation at retaining the good people that you so carefully recruited? How did they measure up to the expectations that you had of them from the start? What about their expectations of your organisation? We’re they met, exceeded…or disappointed?

We can add value to your recruitment outcomes by:

  • Speeding up the recruitment process – often the impact of this is that the good candidates are still available when you make your offer
  • Enhancing the fit between recruits and your organisation.
  • Finding the candidates that will perform well; we look for highly conscientious people who have the right skills. This can include simple or complex psychometrics, from OCEAN (Big 5 personality) to Hogan and many in-between.

Placement

The other side of the coin from recruitment is the placement work with candidates. We can help with every stage, from career planning to interview skills, and everything in-between, including psychometrics, personal development and training. We often partner with more industry-specialist consultancies and agencies too.

Team development

We work with intact teams to augment and complement the work of team leaders and boards, to help enhance all aspects of teamwork, through to output and performance. Fundamental to this is the understanding that trust and accountability build strong foundations for performance, and trust can be objectively built, and more quickly when proactive. We refer to this as fast-cycle business intimacy.

Teams are more than the collection of individual performers. Teams that work well together look to take on, and deliver on, much larger, more complex, and longer-term projects. This is because while each individual can do 1 x output, a collection of (say 5 x) individuals can do 5 x 1 output, a team can do 1 x 5 output. Or to put it another way, if 1 person can lift 100kg, and a collection of 5 people can EACH lift 100kg, a TEAM of 5 people can lift 500kg, and 500kg is often not the same as 5 x 100kg.

Team development can be at any level within an organisation, from trustees or boards right through to project teams.

Leader development

Through ASPIRE we deliver an annual 10-month leadership development cohort of 12-18 people. This is run along the lines of a transformational leadership programme, with the content and programme including Action Learning, residential development events, virtual development events, 1:1 coaching, psychometrics, 360 feedback and peer coaching. We are also able to offer development through the Leadership Development Framework (https://www.harthill.co.uk/leadership-development-framework), based on developmental constructivist psychology and quite different from most other psychometrics.

1:1 development

We like to work 1:1, where we can achieve trust and depth in the relationship. Every professional athlete has a coach. Our view is that every professional should have a coach.
